RAYA proudly connects and operates scheduled and charter air cargo services into major regional hubs such as China, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam as well as prime commercial centres in East Malaysia namely Kota Kinabalu, Labuan, Miri and Kuching.
How It Started
1993
Commenced operations in November 1993 at Subang Airport with a charter flight contracted with Pos Malaysia to carry express mail and parcels between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
1996
- Designated as a national air cargo carrier by the Ministry of Transport in August 1996.
- Contracted by the Ministry of Defence to transport military personnel and their families between Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Labuan.
1998
- Leased 2 DC-10 aircrafts to provide Hajj charter services to over 25,000 pilgrims for the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
- Secured aircraft wet-lease arrangements for the Middle East, Philippines, and Indonesian markets.
2006

2016
- Awarded the “Dedicated Air Supplier” Bronze Award by DHL Express Asia Pacific.
- Inducted the first B767 aircraft.
2018
2021
- Commenced operations into Greater China, with Nanning as the first destination, to support the e-commerce boom.
- Appointed as the sole carrier of COVID-19 vaccines for distribution in Malaysia.
2023
- Inducted the first A321 converted freighter aircraft — marking a first in Asia. Subsequently, two more A321 aircraft were added to the fleet.
- Relocated operations to KLIA in support of the Government’s Subang Airport Regeneration Plan.
2024
- Commenced cargo terminal operations at RAYA’s warehouse in KACT 1.
- Partnering with the largest e-commerce logistics provider in East Malaysia.
- Expanding operations into Greater China by opening two new stations NGB and CGO.
- Establishing new routes, including PEN-HKG, KUL-CGO, BKI-NNG, KCH-HKG and LBU-SGN.
- Operating for DHL Express’ Kuala Lumpur Gateway.
